Worcester Labour Party is proud to confirm that we are to be one of the first constituencies to choose a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC).

The application process is now underway, with our Secretary Roger Jenkins supervising the receipt of CVs. We are using an All Women Shortlist. The deadline for applications is Saturday 24 September 2011.

Following that deadline, a committee of local members and councillors will meet to review the applications, and will invite some applicants for interview. Following the interview process, we will present Worcester Labour members with a shortlist. Shortlisted candidates will face a hustings meeting and a members vote on Saturday 19 November, and the candidate will be announced at that meeting.

Chris Winwood, Chair of Worcester Labour Party, said "Our Tory MP has a relatively small majority. Selecting so early, we will have several years to work with our chosen candidate, ensuring that she is well known to everyone in Worcester. Labour can win Worcester back from the Tories, and we're getting underway".
