Campaigning in Worcester for a progressive future

West Branch covers the three council wards on the west bank of the River Severn: Bedwardine, St. John's and St. Clements, with two City Councillors and one County Councillor.

There are regular meetings at the Berkeley Arms pub in St. Johns, with charged discussions of the topical and contentious political issues of the day, over a pint. Recent topics have included the European Union, education, the war in Iraq, criminal justice and civil liberties. All meetings provide an opportunity for members to get involved in campaigns and question local councillors about developments impacting both on the city and the west side of Worcester.

Popular local topics include Bennetts Farms, congestion and the future of Christopher Whitehead School. We also have guest speakers such as Mike Foster MP, John Buckley, Leader of the Labour group on the County Council, and Nigel Knowles, PPC for Wyre Forest.

Branch Chair, Matt Lamb, would be pleased to hear from you on (01905) 429937.
